Dataset Templates
A dataset template is a reusable schema that defines what each row means, which fields belong in it, and how the finished data should be documented. The right template removes the blank-spreadsheet problem without locking you into someone else's data.
Choose the template by the work it needs to support. A product catalog, a local business directory, and a Search Console history may all use rows and columns, but they need different identifiers, validation rules, and update routines.
Choose a Dataset Template by Its Job
Review the intended audience, included fields, practical use cases, export formats, and license before selecting a starting structure.
Local Business Dataset Template
A structured schema for capturing local business listings: NAP data, category, service area, and review signals, ready for outreach or lead gen lists.
SEOGSC Dataset Template
A schema for turning raw Google Search Console exports into a structured, queryable dataset of queries, pages, clicks, impressions, and position over time.
BusinessCompetitor Research Dataset Template
A repeatable schema for tracking competitor positioning, pricing, channels, and messaging over time instead of a one-off spreadsheet that goes stale.
BusinessEcommerce Product Dataset Template
A normalized product catalog schema that separates product identity from sellable variants while keeping pricing, inventory, imagery, and source records ready for import and review.
ResearchHealthcare Research Dataset Template
A blank, reusable schema for organizing healthcare provider, facility, or program records for analysis or publication. It includes source and verification fields but no licensed healthcare search records.
BusinessReal Estate Market Dataset Template
A schema for tracking listings, pricing trends, and market indicators at the neighborhood or zip-code level over time.
What a Useful Dataset Template Should Define
A reusable template should explain the structure as clearly as it presents the columns. That includes the identity of one row, the purpose of each field, and the rules that keep repeated values consistent.
- The real-world item or event represented by one row
- Clear field names and expected data types
- Required fields and optional enrichment fields
- Source and verification fields for collected facts
- Controlled categories for values that must stay consistent
- Documented CSV, JSON, or spreadsheet exports
Test the Structure Before Filling the Dataset
Use a small representative batch before collecting hundreds or thousands of rows. Ten varied records will expose missing identifiers, overloaded columns, inconsistent categories, and format problems while the schema is still easy to change.
Template or Finished Dataset?
Choose a template when you need a reusable structure for data you will collect or import. Choose a finished dataset when you need licensed records with a defined source, coverage period, and current sample.
